Sad Sunday

As I sit watching the Oscars, I'm struck by how few movies I have seen this year. I've only seen one movie up for Best Picture (District 9), and feel a bit out of the loop. On the other hand, it's so fun to see all the beautiful dresses the actresses have on.

I have been bummed all day. I think I just really miss my hubby and am worn out from work. At any rate, I slept in until 7:30, and then let Kobe out in the yard.

Breakfast was blueberry and Better 'N Peanut Butter oatmeal with wheat berries, and a banana. After breakfast, I had to run to the post office and Wal-Mart, so of course that was my excuse to go to Starbucks for a grande skinny caramel decaf misto. Starbucks is a five-minute ride from my house, so by the time I got home, my coffee was at the perfect temperature.

After my coffee, I did some chores, and then worked out. Thanks to my trusty treadmill, I got in a great walk/run.

It's a pretty basic model....

...just options for speed and incline...

And I have a view of the neighborhood while I walk/run.

The treadmill is one of the best pieces of workout equipment I've ever bought-we got it for $25!

While I worked out, I had a batch of brown rice baking in the oven- I'll eat it for lunch/dinner this week.

Lunch was a salad, baked potato soup, and an orange. After doing some more chores and lying around on the couch, I snacked on a few almonds before heading out to the fields to collect baseball stats.

When I came home, Kobe and I spent a few minutes in the yard. Then it was time for dinner!

I started out with a salad, and then baked up some potato wedges in the oven, and cooked a big batch of chicken stir fry. I didn't add any sauce to the chicken or veggies, I figured I could add the sauce later to suit my mood.

Tonight, I mixed pineapple salsa with the stir-fry-- so good!

For dessert, I ate a piece of dark chocolate and a peanut butter sandwich cookie with tea.

I'm off to watch the Oscars, make the bed, and watch the NCAA DII selection show-- our team has a shot at making the tournament!
